Year-Round Swimmers

Year-round swimming in our province is divided into three divisions: Nova Tech, Age Group and Pre-Competitive.

Nova Tech swimming is designed to meet the needs of our younger and less experienced athletes by providing a dynamic and fun competitive experience.

Age Group swimming is designed for swimmers that meet the graduation standards from Nova Tech that wish to compete in meets. Swimmers that are new to the sport may still compete at the Nova Tech series of meets. Swimmers wishing to compete at higher levels must achieve various time standards such as East Coast, Age Group Nationals, Easterns or Senior Nationals. Once swimmers have earned these qualifying standards they can attend these competitions.

Pre-Competitive Swimming is designed for athletes that do not wish to compete in any age group or Nova Tech meets. They may choose to swim for fitness, or for social reasons. All of our clubs do offer a pre-competitive component within their club structure. Swimmers can switch to Nova Tech or age group at any time throughout the season if they choose so.

Swim NS is excited to announce that we have accepted Swim BC’s challenge in the 200m Butterfly this season – we will be participating in the 2022-2023 Golden Flipper Challenge!!

The Swim BC Thompson - Okanagan Region have partnered with us to challenge each other in the 200 Butterfly. The challenge has been designed to develop spirit, story, and a rallying cry to inspire and motivate the swimmers, coaches, and their clubs. The regions will work collaboratively to share and compete in this friendly rivalry.

This region includes 6 clubs of the BC Interior, including Shuswap, Kamloops, Kelowna, Penticton, Summerland, and Vernon.

Results will be published and shared monthly, starting in a couple of weeks. Results will simply be pulled from results from sanctioned competitions.

An information sheet is available that outlines the age groups and scoring.

We would like to thank Team Aquatic Supplies and Speedo for their support of this initiative.
