SAVE THE ACADIA UNIVERSITY POOL

Help Keep the Acadia Pool Open – Act Now!

We are reaching out to you with an immediate to action following February’s announcement that Acadia University will be closing its pool on June 15, 2025 due to financial constraints.

This closure will have a devastating impact not only on the local swimming community but also on swimmers across Nova Scotia who rely on this facility for training, competition, and recreational use.

The loss of the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club (WTSC), one of Nova Scotia’s top competitive swimming programs available to youth and the Acadia Varsity Swim Team, one of only two university swim teams in the province, will affect the entire sport of swimming in our province.

  • Please sign and share the ONLINE PETITION

  • Emailing Acadia leadership (pre-drafted email with contacts under the Call-to-Action Toolkit below)

  • Attend our upcoming Town Hall (details coming the week of May 12th)

Swim Nova Scotia is ready to step in and help to keep the Acadia pool open during this transition—at no cost to the university—while planning for a new facility is underway.

It is important to keep the Acadia Pool open:

  • Community access

  • Health and well-being

  • Youth sport

  • No viable alternatives

Call-to-Action Toolkit

Send a letter to government officials and leaders at Acadia University.

We encourage you to personalize them with any personal impacts, stories or connections you or your family may have to the Acadia Pool, Acadia University or the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club.

A list of names and email addresses – Contact details for key decision-makers, including government representatives and Acadia leadership.
