Next Steps Following Acadia Pool Town Hall
Request for Support – Support Community Access and a Collaborative Solution for Acadia Pool
Last night, Swim Nova Scotia hosted a Town Hall on the future of the Acadia Pool. We were pleased to see over 150 community members join us in person and online, demonstrating the deep concern and strong support for maintaining access to this vital facility.
Today, Wednesday, June 4, we are asking all supporters to email the municipal and provincial contacts listed in the attached spreadsheet. Please also CC Acadia University leadership and BCC the Board of Governors using the contact details provided.
The template letter can be found here; you can copy, paste and send it to the contact list.
All you have to do is copy, paste and send. We want to make sure our voices are heard, so please email the letter to the attached contacts before the end of the day today (Wednesday June 4).
This coordinated effort is essential to demonstrate to decision-makers the strength and unity of our community. Our ask remains simple and reasonable: that Acadia University work with Swim Nova Scotia to commission a State of Good Repair Report, led by Aquatic Associates. This would identify the short-term solutions needed to keep the Acadia Pool safely operational while long-term plans are developed.
This offer comes at no cost to Acadia University - and it is our sincere hope they will accept it and work with us toward a solution.
Thank you again for your time, energy, and commitment. Together, we can ensure this vital community space remains open for the people who need it most.
