Danial Murphy of Sackville, N.S. has wrapped up competition at the IPC world swimming championships for athletes with a disability.
Danial Murphy from Bedford who represents the Sackville Waves Aquatic Team had a terrific meet. Danial set a new Canadian Record in the men’s S5 200m Freestyle with a time of 3:16.24 with his fourth place finish and in the S5 50m Freestyle with a time of 46.84. Danial also placed 11th in the 50m Butterfly with a time of 1:07.89 and 12th in the 100m Freestyle with a time of 1:35.64.
Murphy was very pleased with his performances this week in Eindhoven achieving personal best times in three of his four events.
Danial is a member of Canada’s 31-member team for these championships which will run through Saturday.
