Swim Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service (NSLS) are pleased to announce the results from the Open Water Swimming Event held yesterday (Thursday August 12th, 2010) at Kearney Lake in Halifax.

A total of 77 swimmers age 9-60+ participated in the following distances: 1km, 2km and 5km races. The top overall winners were as follows:

Top Female 1km- Taylor Russell (Sackville), 13:11.21
Top Male 1km- Colm Somers (Halifax), 12:37.90
Top Female 2km- Laura MacMillan (Halifax), 26:34.35
Top Male 2km- Mohamed El-Dah (Halifax), 24:21.32
Top Female 5km- Alison Grant (Halifax), 1:03.47.91
Top Male 5km- Chris Reith (Halifax), 58:53.76
