Fifty-one Canadian swimmers aged 11 to 18 wrapped up competition in Santa Clara, California on Saturday. Competition took place from August 5th to 7th at the North American Challenge Cup.
Halifax Trojan swimmer Olivia Feschuk helped lead the Canadian national youth squad to first place in the team standings at the North American Challenge Cup swimming competition.
The Canadian squad tabulated 1,807.5 points at the three-day age group meet. Southern California Swimming was second at 1,596.5 and Pacific Swimming (U.S.) third at 1,348.5. Mexico was fourth.
During the final day of competition, 14 year old Olivia Feschuk of the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club placed first in the 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2:21.82, just shy of Nancy Garapick’s Provincial Record set in 1976; and third in the 800m Freestyle with a time of 9:19.18.
