19 year old David Sharpe of the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club was named to the 2010 Nations Cup Swim Team today in Victoria. Swimming Canada will be hosting Brazil, France and Australia in an exciting finals only, 2-day event. Hosted in Victoria, BC at Sannich Commonwealth Place on August 5-6, the Tri-Nations Cup competition will showcase Canada's 2012 & 2016 Olympic hopeful’s shootout type meet.
At the pool today, Dmitry Shulga of the Halifax Wavecutters placed 21st in the 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2:09.38 in the men’s C final.

At the pool yesterday, David Sharpe of the Halifax Trojans placed 19th overall in the C final of the 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:06.78 and Dmitry Shulga of the Halifax Wavecutters placed 24th with a time of 2:10.67. The Halifax Trojans men’s relay team placed 24th overall in the 400m Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:38.97; team members included Joe Ur, Bryan Fumerton, Kit Moran, and Nate Campbell.

Competition at the pool wrapped up today; the 10km open water competition will take place on Sunday starting at 9:00am local time at Thetis Lake in Victoria.
