14 year old Olivia Feschuk and 19 year old David Sharpe of the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club both earned top spots today at the Saanich Commonwealth Place pool in Victoria. Both swimmers will be competing in the C final tonight in their respective events; David will be swimming in the 50m Backstroke where he is currently ranked 22nd after his preliminary time of 27.73 this morning. Olivia will be competing in the 400m Individual Medley where she is currently ranked 26th after her preliminary time of 5:04.67 this morning.

At the pool yesterday, David Sharpe placed fifth overall in the A final of the 200m Butterfly with a time of 2:03.25 and Terri-Lynn Benison placed 15th in the consolation final of the 200m Butterfly with a time of 2:16.68. Chris Reith placed 14th overall in the 1500m Freestyle earning himself a new Nova Scotia Senior Men’s long course record with a time of 16:08.50.

Competition will continue through Saturday with preliminaries beginning at 9 a.m., and finals at 6 p.m. local time.
