Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club – Assistant Head Coach
Halifax Trojans Aquatic Club was founded in 1967, and has grown over the years to become the leading competitive and most decorated swim team in Atlantic Canada.

We are currently seeking a coach for a fulltime position starting September 1st, 2010.

Duties include but not limited to:
- Working with the head coach in the development and delivery of all aspects of the club program
- Interact with swimmers, parents, coaches in a manner that adheres to the Trojan’s long term athlete development model and philosophy
- Season plan development, delivery, and direct coaching of the Trojan’s “Junior Group” (athletes ranging in ability from East Coast Championship qualifiers to Age Group National qualifiers)
- Ability to establish a reliable and professional on-deck presence
- Implement swimmer evaluation and development strategies
- Attendance at all local relevant meets, national competitions and tour teams when necessary
- Trojan administration responsibilities:
o Accounting – handling of club fees, deposits, expense payments, accounting software
(Quickbooks)
o Registration – assist with registration process, schedule athlete assessments
o Equipment – assist team equipment manager with collection and distribution of club
equipment and funds
Requirements
- NCCP Level 2 or equivalent
- Two or more years of competitive coaching experience
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, well organized, with strong communication and leadership skills
- Strong knowledge of stroke technique
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Hytek, etc) considered necessary
- Desire to continue professional development
