The Bedford Beavers invite applications for Assistant Coaches for the 2010 summer swim season.
The Bedford Beavers are a summer swim team which trains at the Lions Pool in Bedford. We are looking for 2 assistant coaches for the 2010 summer swim season. Must have Swim Teacher Certification, Swimming 101 trained would be an asset. The swim season starts at the end of June and ends after the Provincial’s during the weekend of August 20-22. The Beavers practice daily Monday thru Friday, with one or two meets per weekend at various swimming venues in the province.

Job Description
• Serve as a role model for club swimmers.
• Be aware of and work towards ensuring that the club’s policies and procedures are followed.
• Be aware of the seasonal training plan, weekly and daily training plans developed by the head coach and actively contribute to the implementation.
• Actively contribute to the head coach’s plan to ensure that club swimmers develop the optimal technical, tactical, mental and physical skills that will collectively enable each swimmer to work towards the development of their potential.
• Attend all club training sessions, club time trials and swim meets.
• Prepare practice plans for aspects of team training sessions that may be delegated by the head coach.
• Understand the assistant coach roles and responsibilities as determined by the head coach for all training sessions, time trials and swim meets and effectively carry out same.
• Display openness to receiving feedback and make appropriate adjustments on all aspects relating to coaching of the Club as provided by both the head coach and the President (representing the executive) who will also receive feedback and suggestions from the age group parent liaisons.
• Be an active participant in ensuring that assistant coach time during time trials and swim meets is appropriately distributed to ensure interaction with all swimmers, as directed by the head coach.
