A total of ten new Nova Scotia Provincial Records were set during the five days of competition at the 2012 Canadian Age Group Championships. Two of these were relay records set by the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club.

Last night at the pool, the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club set a new Nova Scotia Provincial Record in the women’s 13-14 200m Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:53.25; team members included Sarah Polley, Aileen Feschuk, Isabel Sarty and Nicole Windsor. The same girls also broke the 200m Medley Relay tonight with a time of 2:09.04 placing them 13th overall.

Top swims of the day today included Wolfville Triton Swimmer, Kassandra Parsons who swam in the 15 year old women’s 50m Butterfly set a new Nova Scotia Provincial Record for the 15-17 age group with a time of 28.81 with a sixth place finish, breaking her Provincial Record that she set during prelims earlier in the day. Mohamed El-Dah of the Dartmouth Crusaders finished fourth in the 18-year-old 50m Butterfly with a time of 25.52. Juliana Pouliot of the Halifax Wavecutters Aquatic Club set a new Provincial Record in the 11-12 girls 50m Butterfly with a time of 31.44.

Competition wrapped up today at Calgary’s Talisman Center for 55 of Nova Scotia’s top age group swimmers. 14 Nova Scotia swimmers will compete on Monday during the Open Water event that will take place at the Arbour Lake Community Association starting at 9:00am local time.
